Cool

Get the book "4x4 Routes of Western Montana". You can probably find it at an outdoor retail store once you are in MT. That's where we got ours. In Idaho, don't miss Theodore Roosevelt National Park, both the northern and southern areas. As I recall there were some hard off-roads in great country around the outside of the southern area. Have fun - Ted

I should have added that those TR Parks are great places to photograph buffalo, wild horses, elk, wolves, antelope and prairie dogs, up close. Sometimes the buffalo get too close and you have to share the highway with them as they plod down the centreline in great herds! - Ted

I just accidentally went the wrong way out of Highwood MT onto Gap Rd that then took me up and over the Highwood Mountains on Highwood Creek Trail through the national park coming out on the other side in Gyser. I was in a rental Toyota Four Runner. Not a bad ride although I prefer the TH for its comfort and tech. There are several creek crossings and it was definitely a fun time.
