Off-Road KL Recovery Kit

After some fits and states, and with some help from Offroad Consulting at Rausch Creek I completed my KL Recovery kit. I don't have a winch, nor do I plan on getting one. Just wanted to share with folks, and see what everyone else brings with them.

This is meant for what the KL can handle - it isn't a Wrangler. And for day excursions, not overlanding.

- Ridgid Tool Box
- 36" HLJ
- Smittybuild Tow Strap
- RuggedRidge Tree Saver
- 2x Large, 1x medium Shackles
- HLJ Tire Lift Mate
- 2x Custom Splice Soft Shackles
- Gloves
- Zip Ties
- Garbage Bags
- Rag
- WD40
- Hex Keys and wrenches specific to what I have on my vehicle
- Tire deflator/gauge
- Slime Compress (not shown)
- Headlamp (not shown)
- Leatherman (not shown)

I also carry the Jeep KL roadside recovery kit with jumper cables, space blanket, electric "flare" and other stuff.

Great looking kit. I have that same box, but I use it for tools. I want to trade it for the DeWalt of the same size... It doesn't have the same carcinogen warning as the Rigid.

Look great. I'd also toss in a head mounted flashlight, some spare batteries, a moving blanket in case you need to get under the Jeep, duck tape, and maybe a 3LB dead blow hammer if you need a bit more force on a wrench

Great looking kit. I am not one for a winch on the KL Trailhawk so I think is a good alternative recovery kit. What's a roundabout $$ figure for the listed items ?

That's a great idea! Thanks man!

I had the HLJ base, but only pack it if I'm on the beach. Don't really need it around the East Coast since there are plenty o' rocks. Air pump is a Slime and not shown.

Got the head lamp in there. A moving blanket, duck tape and a dead blow would be a great addition. Thanks man.

Thanks J! The warning is only in CA - thanks Proposition 65! You know, the sun has a carcinogen warning too.

Thanks man. Agreed on the winch. Not sure of the total - but the most expensive items were the 36" HLJ (~$80), Slime compressor (~$70) the box itself (~$50). I got everything on there except the soft shackles from Amazon.
