Who has a Gobi rack? Worth it?

So I'm considering buying the Gobi stealth rack but it sure does cost a pretty penny. I had a roof basket but it sat so high in the air and wasn't very big. I like how the Gobi replaces the stock rails. I'm getting into this off-road thing and really enjoy it. Plus it simply looks super cool.

So if you have it, was it worth it? I want to start camping and going on off road trips and it would be nice for the extra space.

It was worth every single dollar I spent on it and if I had to do it again on a different vehicle I would!

I love my Gobi rack with ladder and wind deflector. I will always go with a Gobi rack for every new vehicle purchased.

I like mine. It does add a little bit of wind noise at higher speeds (only because the car is pretty much dead silent without it) and you might see a couple MPG drop after installing it. But the few times I needed to tie down a massive ladder to move or throw up a roof bag it was well worth it. It's low-profile and might I add looks bad-@$$.

I have not yet installed my ladder. I'm still debating it. I actually liked someone's setup with the RRO step rails for accessing the rack better than using a ladder. I'm just still teeter-tottering on the idea of getting RRO rails and was hoping some other options would come to market. Granted... the ladder does seem to be a great place to mount antennae.

Little bit of wind noise at higher speeds. At speeds in excess of 85 you can almost feel the wind buffeting and at 100-110 or so it feels like the rack is coming off LOL.

But again, I wouldn't have another rack. I love this and would buy one again in a heart beat.

I think the Gobi rack is a bit expensive for raw material and construction (I have one), but there are also the design & R&D costs. Still expensive, but the engineering is rock solid as is the rack itself.

There's no comparison to a normal crossbar/basket.

I think they look outstanding and clearly satisfy every roof rack need. But they are pricey. For 1/3 the cost I'd also look at a stealth rhino rack platform. Those are pretty slick IMO.
