@tbrou6229 here he comes, better call Jackson Co SD to prepare them. Don't suggest the casino in Cherokee, very overpriced.

Not Offroad but, suggest hitting Mt. Mitchell, the highest point east of the Mississippi, Linville Falls, and Stone Mtn St Park. There are a lot of small roads connected to the BRP that look adventurous but, watch for signage as some private roads have no gates.

Good luck and have fun! I'd suggest looking up forest service roads in the are you'll be going through. The Forest Service provides a Motor Vehicle Use Map which shows all the open/seasonal FS roads in the specific area. A lot of them are just gravel roads, but some of them go off into really cool areas with fun terrain to drive. Just keep an eye out for trespassing signs... I've been down a couple roads and then saw the sign as I was leaving. Oops!

The last time we went was near Woodstock, VA. This time, I'm not sure what town it's near. Google "Flagpole Knob" and/or "Peter's Mill/Tasker's Gap"

If you are by Asheville and have time, hit up Windrock, TN. In VA there are an abundance of trails in the George Washington National Forest. As suggested, check out Flagpole/Meadow Knob. Peter's Mill is essentially a rough driveway, but its fun and relaxing (make sure you get a permit at a local gas station). There is Big Levels (Stuarts Draft, VA), but last time I checked it was closed for some reason. If you are heading north of NOVA, check out Green Ridge State Forest. If you are headed east of NOVA, check out Asseteauge, MD for some beach driving. If you are back in Asheville by OCT make sure you go to the Overland festival.
