Nope but I live in the Bay Area (SECOND worst traffic in the U.S.) so I know all about it. My brake pedal sees more action than the gas.

I want to mooooooove! If I could quit my job and go live in the forest I would be so happy.

Hahaha, FACT! I have a 2014 Explorer (for another week or so) as a company car and it sees a lot of idle time.

Picture of under side. I think a short, inline muffler between the gas tanks, 4.5"x20", is doable. Then run the exhaust sideways to the driver rear wheel. Might need some thermal protection on the driver side gas tank. Solves the muffler and departure angle problem. Depending on the fitment, you could also run a skid plate between the two gas tanks for added muffler protection. Might as well do a skid plate for the rear PTU while you are under the Jeep.

This project is scheduled after the front end mods and before the rear bumper upgrade.

Modifications:
1) RRO super sliders
2) 1.25" lift (Aussie)
3) 32" tires
Engine skid plate clearance at 11.25" compared to OE of 8.7"
4) K&N CAI
====[future]====
5) relocate and down-size washer reservoir
6) Dobinsons KL kit
7) front bumper design
8) RCV axles
9) adjust engine skid plate clearance to >12"
10) quick disconnect sway bar links
11) muffler relocation
12) rear bumper design
13) lighter weight armor (except engine skid plate)

I think there is more work in converting a D44 differential skid (which causes pinion seal leaks BTW) into a suitable skid for the rear PTU on a KL.

For several reasons, our KL will be making our overlanding trip in about a month so I am hoping to get Klondike on the lift to work on a prototype skid. (Not for the muffler, I don't really care about the exhaust, but the PTU).

I'll post a video on our Insta/FB/Blog on that progress, but likely will not post anything official here until it's tested a bit.
