First time poster, but I thought I would say I got to take my TrailHawk out to the Northwest OHV Park in Bridgeport, TX and had a blast. I'm impressed with the jeeps ability to navigate some of the trails with some obvious limitations. Ground clearance was a BIG problem. My skid plates and the plastic on the bottom by the doors took a beating. The second problem I had was traction. The factory tires simply couldn't dig and grab for me to climb some of the hills and rocks. So does anyone know if 245/70 will fit without rubbing during full flex or turn? If so then I can fit really off road tires too it.

Nice pics! I will have to visit this place! Did you air down the tires? I haven't had problems with traction in rock or sand.... but I air down. Gonna have to add some Rock Sliders!?!

There are members with 245/70's on their TH's, very little rub on flex. Keep up the Jeep life!

Sadly I didn't airdown. I don't have a pump just yet. I ordered from rocky road my winch mount and bar and I'm waiting on my roof rack as well. Once I get those in I'll order the rock rails with stepbars to get to the roof. But I wanna see if I get the first stuff I ordered before I order more.

I actually had one from my old Kia Sorento. It's a Yakima MegaWarrior. Mounted to it I have a Rigid industries 40" light bar and four dually d2 flood lights. When the front mount comes in I have a 20" led bar and a 10" bar attaching to that. As far as the roof rack I'm waiting for the crossbar to come in. I'm just hoping the factory rails can handle the weight of the spare, my hilift jack and the rack.

By the way, how to you like those rock sliders? Easy to install? I tore two of the plastic pieces off from the underside so I'm hoping the sliders can hold up better. I didn't buy a jeep to keep it on the street lol. I was curious what the stock rig could do.

Develman sadly I didn't as I went alone. But if you check out their Facebook page they have pictures of the trails. I have to say having never been to a park I thought a good portion of the park couldn't be done by the Cherokee but I saw quite a few setup wranglers just walking up hills and rocks like they were nothing. I got laughed at a few times just for having a Cherokee out there and many people didn't realize it had a locker and skid plates so they were surprised I managed the "difficult" trails.

I love the RRO Supersliders, they are great looking and extremely usable! I know personally you can use them as jacking points! With the skid plates and the sliders, I am almost good to go anywhere I would want to

skid plates?

Just checking. You are talking the stock TH skid plates, right? You havent added any additional skid plates?

Well cool. After I get my winch mount and everything I'll pick up the sliders. It was a little unnerving to take a week old NEW rig off road and hear that classic sound of plastic being rubbed on rocks. Overall though the park is nice. It's an old quarry with several pits, some mud, some nice rock climbs and some extreme trails for the dedicated rigs. There was plenty to do for my TH. It took a little getting used to and to learn how to trust all the electronics.

So I went back to the park today. Some good, some bad. I dented the front skid plate, crushed the exhaust, tore a hole in the front bumper, scratched the front right quarter panel by the running light, knocked the alignment out, and to top it all off I RIPPED the passenger side plastic rock panel off. I followed all the wranglers and didn't have much trouble. A couple of drop offs got built up with other rocks to help me down without further damage. Overall very fun and I pissed off a few wrangler guys that didn't have lockers that worked cause I walked up some of the trails. There was a professional photographer with us too so I'm waiting for his photos and I'll post them. In the mean time here are the pictures I have. I have a video of a wrangler going over a trail and I followed shortly after him.

That Rubicon has issues. The front was not locked in. Either the driver did not know what they were doing or there was a mechanical problem. The Rubi should have walked that.

Good for you or showing what these are capable of. That was a pretty nasty washout. I don't think I would have tried it in my TH.

It was good to see what a Cherokee could do if pushed, but at my ripe old age of 81, don't think I'll ever tackle that kind of serious off-roading. I'm confident now that our TH will take us anywhere that we want to go. Thanks!

I saw one guy taking video but I never got his name or number so I'm gonna keep an eye out on youtube for it if he posts it. But I know for a fact the photographer got lots of pictures of my TH doing the trail cause he suggested I submit a few to Jeep. So I'm just waiting for him to email them to me. I know for a fact that he got a picture of when I was running the washouts in the video but when my nose was in the air and it looked like I was sitting on the rear hatch. I'm not afraid to damage my TH on the trails, that's what insurance is for if I seriously damage it. Ripping off the rock shield isn't a big deal to me since I'm putting on RRO Sliders anyways, now I'm just gonna save time by not having to remove one of them.

Here's two of the pictures the guy took, he's still in the process of upload more. The second photo is the one I lost my passenger side rock shield. But it was a blast and I'd do it again!

Sadly I could only afford to go once this month but it is a GREAT park to wheel at and it's even better when there are people there to run with.

Maybe sometime in october cause at the end of this month I'm heading up to washington state for a month. I'll run a few trails up there as well since that's where I'm from I know all the trails. But I'd love a chance to run with another TH, maybe then they'll take us seriously.

Honestly, I think it will be a better time with the Subi guys than the wrangler douches I have come across on other trails.....

Yea, it's not just the wrangler guys. On my way back from the park a guy in an older cherokee, built up big tires, etc had me roll my window down then call me out on the mud and why I bothered having a winch on it when it would never get anywhere I'd need it. If we weren't at a light I'd have shown him pictures. I love that the TH is the "sleeper" of the jeep community.

Yea, I've been to Tahuya in an Isuzu Amigo. I plan on hitting that one but also the infamous Elbe trails. I rolled my Amigo on the Elbe trails so I'm hoping that doesn't happen again. Sadly I have no video of me going up the ruts. But if I get a second chance I'll run it again.
