IMO this is a vehicle that is best left as a concept. Although I could see it being a hit in Austrailia (They loved GM's HSV).

Don't get me wrong, it looks cool, but it doesn't play to any of my actual needs well.
* Need a truck, it would have very low payload and limited volume capacity
* Need an SUV, Now your're leaving your crap out in the elements and sacrificing back seat comfort.
* Want a performance ride, It might do well in a straight line, but the longer wheelbase will kill it in the corners
* Offroad, Uhm... I don't think so.....

I should add:

*need a truck... buy a real truck
*need an SUV... buy a real SUV
*need a performance ride... buy a sports car

Need a jeep? Buy a jeep.

Yes because people are notorious for only buying things they need. That explains all the lifted jeep rubicons I see sitting pretty in traffic without so much as a spec of dirt on them.

I bet a truck like that would sell to a niche market just like the SRT-8 Grand Cherokee sells.

You gotta' be careful judging this book by the cover. We have one of these "dirt free Rubicon's". This isn't from a lack of use, far from it in fact, it's from my hard work cleaning/painting/fixing after the play time. Just because our rigs are not beat all to he11 doesn't mean we haven't put then though it.

Have to agree, too nichey.

A good concept would be the upcoming Wrangler pickup with the Hellcat V8, give a Baja suspension to go up against the Raptor from that Blue Oval manufacturer.

Another would be a twin turbo for the V6 in the KL with permanent AWD for a Trackhawk version.

2016 TH, V6, C&C, Tow group, 8.4AN, leather, Cold Weather, Command Sunroof, Black wheels, & Black. Maxcare Unlimited Miles and Years $100 Deductible.

I used to think exactly like that, and I would just roll my eyes whenever I saw a SRT Grand Cherokee. Then I had a SRT Charger that I got when the Cherokee transmission reputation scared me away. After the low Charger scraped every where I went, and knowing I wanted in a SUV for daily driving, I can appreciate the SRT GC now. I feel like I owe Jeep and those owners an apology now. SUV feel/ride/height/etc and a total blast in regards to acceleration. Now I just roll my eyes at the MPG rating!

While fueling up last night, a newer Wrangler rumbled up to the pump next to me. I asked what had he done to it. It's got a built 6.4L. Good heavens.

I agree with @cherokee_whisperer here. There are plenty of examples of manufacturers who have tried to venture into different segments just to put a leg into it and they've come up short by miles. I say that they should stick to what they are good at and for us as customers, we should recognize where each manufacturer excels...
