Jeep truck update...

https://www.quadratec.com/c/blog/new...y-shots-emerge

Seems to be coming along. I don't see a mention of the 9 speed.

Actually, I believe the Grand Cherokee also has the 8 speed in it. So it will be similar to the Grand Cherokee's power train. That is the 3.6 and 8 speed.
FCA may actually have a great seller with this one. It will not cannibalize existing Jeep sales, but may actually cut into the "truck sales" of the competition.
Thanks for sharing..........

Honcho would also be a good pick for the name. Since this is body on frame, maybe RAM will bring back the Dakota. I see a lot of the Colorados and Canyons on the street. The Dakota and Jeep would not compete against each other because the Jeep driver has a different mindset. Ford is bringing back the Ranger and Bronco; so, let the games begin!

I hope it's big enough to be useful. The KL for example would be way to small, makes me cringe like the joke they made called the Subaru baja

I'm slightly biased since I'm not really a truck person, but I'm not really feeling it with this Wrangler truck. I mean, with the exception of that it's a Wrangler pick-up, what benefits does it honestly provide over other trucks such as the Toyota Tacoma, which it would fall into the same sort of class?

Not smack-talking btw, just inquiring.

For me, it would be Jeeps off road prowess, and the dependability I have personally experienced in the 3 Jeeps I've owned over my lifetime. Added, of course, is the utility of having a pickup truck's versatility.

I've been eyeing this for some time (also the new Ford Bronco) but am a little wary of what the cost might be. I think a lot of people will buy it because it has the same enjoyment of the JKU but more storage/mounting options in the bed of the truck. You could easily put a steel rack in the bed and mount a rooftop tent while having all of that storage room that a truck provides.

Overall then, how do you think a Wrangler Rubicon pick-up would compare to lets say a Tacoma TRD Pro? Price wise, I think they'll be roughly about the same, but I think the Wrangler will only be slightly longer than the JKU, so a lot shorter than the Tacoma for sure, which would undoubtedly make it easier for off-roading and navigating tight quarters. They both have low-range, LSDs, and lockign differentials. It would be an interesting comparison I think.

I definitely do think there's a market for this though, so don't get me wrong on that.

I grew up around Ford Bronco's. 1997 Ford Bronco was literally my dream car, but they're REALLY top heavy, and my parents didn't like the idea of me driving such a strong and heavy vehicle. I'm going to be all over the new Ford Bronco, but i REALLY hope they don't put too much of a modern twist on the exterior.
