The EPA rating of 22 mpg combined for the V-6 seems on the low side when we achieved a calculated 23.4 mpg over 2,300 miles on the TH on our recent Montana trip. We were up and down in the mountains like a yo-yo and were pleased as punch with the overall trip mileage.

Good morning, my name is Ted. Just joined this morning. I have just purchased a Cherokee Latitude ( Active Drive II ) for towing behind a RV. To SBL I tried both the 4 and the 6 and the 6 seems much better to me. Cost was around $ 1200.00 to have it.

As my Australian friend would say, "Goodonya!" You'll find the V-6 is a perfect match form the husky Cherokee, and the mpg will be a pleasanr surprise. Our TH does every bit as well on mileage as the Mitsu Outlander we traded in for it, and the Mitsu is 450 pounds lighter, with a slightly smaller 3.0 V-6

< == also a Ted

I love my V6 Trailhawk and average around 21mpg with mostly mountain highway driving. Choosing the V6 over the anemic 2.4 Tigerlilly was a no brainer.

I have a 4x4 3.6 and am still learning to drive it effectively. I get about 25 MPG according to the dash and I have a bad habit of accelerating too fast after traffic lights and using my AC a lot. Not too bad!

We have a 3.2 4x4 Latitude AD1 and after the first 1000 miles we have never got less than 26mpg combo driving. My wife has a leadfoot too. 30mpg on the highway is great for a v6 SUV IMO.

Only you can decide. I have the I4 and think it's great. Interestingly, it seems many of the negative I4 comments come from those with the V6. Over-compensation? :-) I've not read many I4 owners complaints.

I am very happy with the fuel mileage I am getting, I have only had it long enough to fill it up three times but so far the calculated mileage is 28.3 mpg and dashboard mpg is 29.6. I purposely got a jeep without the tow package for the more efficient gearing, if I need to tow anything I have my Ram for that. The mpg is much better than i thought i would be getting at this point.
