2014 Jeep Cherokee Production Resumes

The production on the 2014 Jeep Cherokee will resume but shipments to dealerships will be delayed, causing the SUV to miss its on-sale date of September 30.

The American automaker is recalling 500 laid off workers from its Toledo plant so that it can resume full production on the 2014 Cherokee. Earlier this week, Chrysler announced that it had temporarily laid off 500 workers in Toledo in order to catch up with recalibrating the Cherokee’s nine-speed automatic transmissions in vehicles already assembled.

Dealerships will now receive the 2014 Jeep Cherokee sometime in October, but the American automaker reiterated that it will not introduce the vehicles until they are “completely satisfied with the quality.”

that was worded well, works in their favor, because who knows what levels of quality they will be satisfied with, will it be up to level we will be satisfied with?

Yup, better they do that than to just half@** it and just pray for the best.
This is possibly a new side of Chrysler/Jeep that we're seeing here, i'm liking it so far.

As much of a pain in the ass as this is...Chrysler is doing the right thing. It would have been catastrophic to send them out and put the repairs in dealers hands...or just wait for a Customer-driven recall

I am hoping this is a homerun for Jeep as far as reliability goes. I love the identity of the brand, but I haven't been so keen on their reliability numbers. Hoping this is a start of a great turnaround!

Exactly, increasing the burden on them.

I hope so too, we all do. This already seems to be the result of Fiat's take over, a positive one.

Winter is coming and the last thing I and many others want is a car that leaves us stranded in the cold. Don't want to be that poor sucka

I fell a recall coming (or maybe it was just mine)

I must have got one of the first 500 that didn't get the work over. Had to take it back in the first month I owned it. The first 3-4 gears lunged forward both on acceleration and braking. And the gas mileage passed 21mpg even on the highway with a tailwind going 55mph downhill! Got it fixed yesterday. Some PCM adjustments. Got 30mpg going 70mph travelling home last night. Shifts markedly smoother but still not seemless. They told me that was the best they're going to be able to do.
