2014 Jeep Cherokee Heads to Dealers after Long Delay

ave you been anxiously waiting for the 2014 Jeep Cherokee? In spite of long delays the company is finally getting its act together and the new compact SUV should start to arrive at dealerships over the next 10 days.

Doing the right thing is rarely easy… or cheap, but Chrysler is taking unusual steps to make sure the reborn Cherokee is delivered to customers without any issues. The company is testing each and every vehicle to make sure it functions properly.

They’re installing new software to smooth out how the engine, nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel-drive system interact. This detour is unusual and has helped push this Jeep’s debut back by about two months. Still, it’s probably better to correct these issues before vehicles end up in customers’ driveways.

Production of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee commenced on June 24 and to date about 23,000 examples have been built. This stockpile of vehicles should be good for dealers, who have seen strong demand for the new crossover utility. Cherokees have been parked at vast lots in Northwest Ohio, near Chrysler’s Toledo assembly plant where the vehicle is built, as well as places in Southeastern Michigan.

If you’ve been patiently waiting to park a new Jeep Cherokee in your garage the wait is nearly over. They should start arriving at dealerships shortly.

At the rate it is going, I won't see mine until the first of November.

Mine is estimated to be delivered 11/4 but I will believe that when I see it.

Congrats Jeepster. Mine changed carriers twice yesterday in Chicago. I am still guessing around Nov 1 before I see it.
