It begins at 9:00 and was a brief show, lasting less than 10 minutes, but if you get out on the Darling Harbor Bridge before 8:30 or so, you'll have plenty of time to find a good spot. The view is better from the bridge than down below, IMHO.

If you want to get out of the city, book a tour of the Blue Mountains (or get a car and drive yourself if you dare). There are some pretty amazing overlooks, even if you don't want to hike any of the trails.

We did one of the twilight bridge climbs in 55 degree weather with strong winds and light rain. It was still pretty amazing and definitely worth it, although I'm glad I didn't know how much it cost until after we had done it and were talking to someone else the next day.

We didn't get the chance, but I understand the backstage tour of the opera house is worthwhile. Otherwise, we could have spent hours just walking around from the Botanical Gardens to McQuarie's Point and up to Woolloomooloo.

Have fun!

We're at the Four Points, too! Probably won't hire a car this time around, but it's not an issue. Have lived/driven in Japan for 6 years and driven in Dublin and rural Ireland several times. I'm used to it.

A friend of our local host has a yacht that he's going to take out Saturday and we are on the list to go with.

I've also been scouting locations for some night shots.

Glad you're having a good time! I'm still recovering from the jet lag, but I'm pretty sure it's Thursday here.

Official visit is over. Personal visit begins. Returning on the 10th.

I only have about 500GB of flash memory with me for the camera. I'm good for about 10,000 shots so I just need to find the opportunity.

I took a walk tonight. I'm particularly found of night skylines. Click each for Flickr and larger size.

@Rojhan...You have some "mad photo skills"

My ultimate dream job would be a travel photographer. Just got back from Switzerland/Italy with over 1500 digi-pix and 5-1/2 hours of HD video. Now comes sorting through all of this data...

Keep sending shots...

MrsRojhan and I would be quite content to be nomads traveling for photo opportunities. The whole "need money to pay bills and such" has been a bit of an issue...
