That is a beautiful piece you saved from the dump.

How was the year determined?

There is a stamp on the inside that says the date of you look up what it means. I thought it was 1909. Clock guy says 1902.

Heard back from the friends I emailed about your clock. Neither they or their son, who is also a clock collector have seen this particular Ingraham, although they did say "Ingraham is a good company known for innovative case design."

Also, they thought the stamped numbers may refer to a patent date.

From what little digging I've done I haven't found another one like it. With the single pillars and what not. It's a great looking piece for sure.

So it only ran for about 18 hours at a time. It's been at the clock place for a week now as it's unwinding the springs. It's got another week and a half or so before it's unwound. It seems it was overwound and needs to be run out but wouldn't do it on its own because the springs were stuck together.

What's the expected number of hours the clock runs between windings (the "going")?

When I took it home and it stopped, I gave it 4 turns and then it ran about 18-20 hours. The clock guy has had it running nonstop for the last 5 days now. But figures there is another few days left in the windings.
