Me again. Interesting article here : http://spec-tanks.com/aquarium-safe-plastics/

So #2 or #5 plastics would be safe to use (safest = #2). That second (cheap) edging I linked to above is made of recycled HDPE (#2). Not sure how stable recycled stuff is though...

Aye, I do own a 3-d printing business. Honestly looking at the project though, I'd follow the advice of the other posts and go with some pre-made plastic options. Printing would need to be done with Abs plastic to hold up to the temp and water, and sizing might be an issue as well. With the cost of the design and printing, plus shipping, cutting some existing plastic would be a better bet I'd wager.
