Thumbs down Maximum Care Warranty NOT transferable

I was very surprised and disgusted to find out that the 5 year extended warranty (Maximum Care Plus) that is Sold by Jeep is NOT transferable i purchased a 2014 jeep grand cherokee from a guy and the car was only 12 months old with a 5 year extended warranty and the warranty is NOT transferable to the new owner. absolutely disgusting and misleading on jeeps behalf...

I knew that was the case for the lifetime warranty, but not for the others.

So, you are saying that you researched the warranty and it specifically states that it is transferrable, but now Jeep says it isn't?

The last I heard was only the lifetime was not transferable. In a few states though it is.
Now I would ask for the original paperwork for the Max Care and read it. Be sure its a Chrysler plan.
1. The situation you are in might actually be a 3rd party "max Care" plan and not a Chrysler plan.
2. It is transferable only to a 2nd owner. I am guessing that may be your issue.

Transfer Policy

Mopar® Vehicle Protection may make your vehicle more valuable and easier to sell. In most but not all cases, remaining coverage may be transferred to a second owner of the vehicle at the time of the vehicle sale. A $50 option transfer fee will be applied (in most states). Lifetime coverage is not transferable unless required by state law.

I Tony, I understand your frustrations. To the best of my knowledge and in regards to warranties it's not great, the only warranty that wasn't transferable and refundable was the lifetime. With that said, I've moved your thread to off topic as this is a Cherokee forum and not a Grand Cherokee forum. Easy mistake. Many number of people make it.
