Got a new 2019 cherokee and want to use whatever is Chrysler certified. Upon searching in these threads, I see that Mobil 1 isn’t, as that’s what I mainly use. However, I see that Valvoline Synpower is certified to use in my 2.4. Is that the same as “regular” Valvoline full synthetic 0w-20? What are you guys using? Only wanting those who use the “Chrysler certified” oils as I will keep my receipts for any future warranty work that may be needed in regards to anything. And hoping to purchase something that’s available at Walmart.

Also, anybody have the MOPAR part number for the oil filter on the 2.4? Seeing if they sell that at Wally World as well. Thanks!

Actually Pennzoil is among the oils that are MS certified.
I use it in 3.2, though its 5w20. Your 0w/20 I am sure is certified also.
That certification will be on the back label of the oil and will not take long to check them out in the store.
Just check out all the 0w20 oil and its an education you will not forget.

An interesting read for you.

I'm also a Mobil 1 guy (or I was until I bought my 2015 TH), but Mobil SuperSynthetic (which is a full synthetic, just not Mobil 1) is certified and I can get a case of 5W-20 from BJs for less than $25, so that's what I use these days.
Interestingly, if you look at Mobil's product pages the Supersynthetic is a notch UNDER the Mobil 1 line. On the Supersynthetic page they say "but if you want the ultimate protection" use Mobil 1. Yet Mobil 1 is not Chrysler-certified. I wonder what's up with that.
