Left window open and of course it rained

Ugh I literally still cannot understand how this even happened. I rolled both my front windows down as I was leaving work around 11:30pm cause I was talking to a few people outside and then when I drove off I swore I put them back up. I would of noticed a window opened cause it was like 30 degrees out. Anyway I go outside to the Jeep today and as I'm about to put the key in the ignition, I see water on the paper floor mats over on the passenger side, now I brought some passenger with me while I was on lunch earlier in the day and of course with the snow and all I knew there would be a mess down there but then I thought about it and said it should of dried up overnight and I look up BOOM. Window all the way down, seat somewhat soaked, door handle wet as ****. Looked around inside and everything was basically how I had left it so I don't think anyone went inside. I'm still shocked how it happened as I even walked around the Jeep after I parked it and went inside. -_-

Edit: just to clarify only the passenger front window was down, all the others were up.

That happened to me a while back. Same window except I was lucky and KL was in the carport. Chalked it up to age and memory lapse lol. I simply missed the window being down. I had stopped just block from home and rolled the wife's window down so she could check the mail box. We got to talking and heater was going and never caught it between the two of us. Was tired an in a hurry to get Jeep unloaded from supply run down the hill. I'm just glad a cat or Raccoon didn't get in there and spray/mark everything! Lots of critters here in the mountains looking for refuge for the night. Was like that overnight :/

You might take it to a full service car wash and have them see if they can wet vacuum that side out. No fun at all. I have done it with a rear window once and it took days to dry, even using a serious shop vacuum, towels and plenty of heat with the windows cracked open to vent the moisture. It was a sedan and several years back. It happens to the best of us. Luckily it was just water, not kids pouring beer or some person climbing in your Jeep and releasing body fluids.

That last one has happened to a few people I know. One lived near a reservation and he forgot to lock the doors. A really drunk guy crawled into his back seat to sleep it off out of the elements and soiled his back in 3 different ways. A full on biohazard.

Water dries, eventually.

Sorry to hear that happened to you. I usually check all windows every time I exit my vehicle, especially on my Patriot as it sits outside. But in my life time it has happened to me in the past when I didn't have all power windows, pretty easy to check these days with all power windows. Hope you can get it dried out and no permanent damage.

This can happen very easily and unkown to anybody who has the "auto-down/up" feature on the power windows. I must have touched the button while rolling the driver's side up and boom.....there ya have it.

Ive dont this several times myself. Fortunately only once did I get rain.
I also tend to double check all four window buttons upon exiting the Jeep.
